This park, formerly known as “El Mexicanito” underwent a rehabilitation worth 20 million pesos provided by the Mexico City Government and residents of the British community. The park offers 2.5 hectares of green space for the enjoyment of locals and tourists of the city.
Some of the outstanding work that was done includes, the connection between Paseo de la Reforma Av. and the Hotel Zone, the construction of an entrance square to the Auditorio Metro station and a bridge to the jogging track, the planting of more than 30,500 flowers and the restoration and relocation of the Winston Churchill statue, a gift from the British Community dating to 1974.
107 lamp posts, 57 benches, 21 solid waste disposal units, 6 information display totems, and 37 bike parking stations were installed. Both the W and Presidente Intercontinental Hotels supported and contributed to the rehabilitation of this space for the entirety of the project, through the Pro Bosque de Chapultepec Trust Fund.
