On June 8, 2021, the rehabilitation of the Fountain of Don Quixote began, a space cataloged by the INAH as a historical monument. The project was developed under the architectural direction of the renowned Grupo de Diseño Urbano “GDU” office of Arch. Mario Schjetnan, and the restoration project was carried out by the company Sakbé de SA de C. V, a which is specialized in restoration of historical sites. The work was carried out under the coordination and the joint work of Mexico´s City Department of the Environment through the Executive Directorate of the Chapultepec Forest, the Citizen´s Advisory Board (CRC) and the Pro Bosque de Chapultepec Trust.

This fountain is a replica of a fountain in Seville, encircled by four tile covered benches dating back to 1924, illustrating passages from the book. To either side of it stands a bronce sculpture: Don Quixotes with the face of Salvador Dalí and Sancho Panza bearing the features of Diego Rivera.
The inauguration of the rehabilitation of this space took place on April 28, 2022.
