El Paseo de los Compositores is considered the Second Section´s inner loop main road and is 650 meters long. 100 million pesos that came out of donations collected by the Pro Bosque de Chapultepec were invested in this project.
With various busts, the Paseo de los Compositores evokes some of the greatest musical exponents who have contributed to Mexico´s musical history with there rhythmic, poetic and folkloric heritage. Among them, Silvestre Revueltas, Ignacio Fernández Esperón, Agustín Lara, Juventino Rosas, Gonzalo Curiel, María Greever, José Alfredo Jiménez, Javier Solís, Guty Cárdenas, and Alberto Domínguez.
A new multipurpose structure was built as a pedestrian walkway, recreational space, exhibit area, and connecting passageway between parks and recreational zones. Two squares with splashing fountains featuring 20 meter spurts were created, a complete water system plan was implemented with the installment of a Vortex and 165 water jets along the walkway, 7,500 m2 of green space was recovered, a forest sanitation was carried out in a 3,700 m2 area, 145 trees and 9000 agapanthus flowers were planted, and 3000 m2 of grass was placed. 108 solar cells were added and new urban furniture installed. This project was conducted by architect Enrique Lastra in coordination with the Sackbé company.
