Derived from the collaboration between the Ministry of the Environment of Mexico City, through the Chapultepec Forest´s administration and the Pro Bosque de Chapultepec Trust, and as part of joint efforts to improve the conditions of the green areas of Chapultepec Forest, the need arose to carry out the “Project Sanitation harvesting and Tree Endotherapy” in the tree-covered area situated within the Cerro de Chapultepec Polygon.
It is important to mention that this project is being developed in collaboration with the authorities of the National Museum of History. In addition to sanitation harvesting, the program also includes the application of endotherapy in those trees that require it to counteract possible pests that may be affecting these specimens.
For the effective execution of this project and with the aim of obtaining precise information about the number of trees present in the intervention area, as well as their general characteristics and phytosanitary status, an update of the forest inventory was carried out.
