Alfonso Herrera Zoo

Founded by Alfonso L. Herrera in 1923, the Chapultepec Zoo is one of Mexico City’s most iconic landmarks. Here, visitors can learn about more than 200 animal species from Mexico and around the world.

This wildlife sanctuary currently houses over 1,200 specimens, including endangered species such as the giant panda and the Mexican wolf. Exhibits are organized into six geographic areas: grasslands, coastal zone, desert, tropical forest, temperate forest, and aviary.

How to get there?

Chapultepec or Auditorio Metro Station. From Av. Reforma, near the Museum of Anthropology and History, enter the forest and follow the signs to reach the main entrance.

Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 to 16:30.
