This fountain, designed by engineer Emilio Lavín Revilla, was inaugurated on October 24, 1964. It consists of a set of 11 reflecting pools, each featuring a concrete monolith that references Olmec culture. Through glyphs, it depicts the process by which amino acids become living beings—a representation that aligns with what Diego Rivera sought to express in his mural “Origin of Life” at the Cárcamo de Dolores.
The fountain was remodeled and reopened in November 2016.
