Improvement of the Tree Canopy at “El Sope”
The Executive Directorate of Chapultepec Forest, in coordination with the Chapultepec Forest Trust and with the support of INIFAP (National Institute of Forestry, Agricultural, and Livestock Research), is carrying out a project to improve the tree canopy along the “El Sope” running track. This area is heavily used, and the project prioritizes both environmental enhancement and user safety.
Since early 2025, displacements and cracks have been identified in the arches and walls of the historic building that houses the Chapultepec Forest Site Museum and Visitor Center. In response to this situation, renowned architects and structural engineers have recommended carrying out technical studies to determine the most appropriate solution for its rehabilitation. At the same time, a project to update the museum’s exhibition design is being developed in coordination with the Executive Directorate of Chapultepec Forest, the Chapultepec Forest Trust, and Siete Colores.
Paralelamente, se desarrolla un proyecto de actualización museográfica en coordinación con la Dirección Ejecutiva del Bosque de Chapultepec, el Fideicomiso Pro Bosque y Siete Colores.
Rehabilitation of Food Kiosco A1
The proposal seeks to renovate this space with a focus on early childhood, the right to public space, sustainability, and the dignification of the commercial experience.
The objective is to transform three secondary entrances into thematic corridors for early childhood. Each corridor will center on a different theme—Nature, Adventure, and Water—and will integrate playful elements, native vegetation, ethnotechnologies, and furniture designed with criteria of inclusion, safety, sustainability, and local storytelling.
To involve more people in conservation efforts and strengthen a community united by a common purpose, we offer the opportunity to become part of our Chapultepec Volunteer Program.
Thanks to their support, we can continue the restoration efforts in Chapultepec Forest and carry out actions that help make Mexico City a healthier, more livable, and sustainable community.
