Since early 2025, displacements and cracks have been identified in the arches and walls of the historic building that houses the Site Museum and Visitors Center of Chapultepec Park, as well as separations and deformations in its façades and floors. These signs reveal a progressive structural deterioration in this property, which has been classified by INAH as a Historic Monument.
In response to this situation, renowned architects and structural engineers have recommended conducting technical studies to determine the most appropriate solution for its rehabilitation.
At the same time, a museographic renovation project is being developed in coordination with the Executive Directorate of Chapultepec Park, the Pro Bosque Trust, and Siete Colores – Ideas Creativas, with the aim of reflecting the integration of the Fourth Section and the new spaces created as part of the Chapultepec: Nature and Culture project.
