Ubicado en la Segunda Sección, el Centro Ambiental de Economía Circular The Circular Economy Environmental Center (CAEC) promotes the production of plants, compost, and bio-based inputs to support the care and regeneration of Chapultepec Forest. It will also serve as a hub for environmental education and community engagement, with a strong focus on the principles of the circular economy.

Phase One of the Circular Economy Environmental Center (Completed)

The first phase included:

Comprehensive rehabilitation of a 6,000 m² site to establish it as a center for plant production and environmental education. 

Rehabilitation of two existing greenhouses and construction of three new production areas to strengthen the nursery's operational capacity. 

Agroecological production of forest, ornamental, edible, and fruit plants to support the restoration, reforestation, and conservation of Chapultepec Forest. 

Implementation of an integrated composting system and a biofactory, using plant waste generated throughout Chapultepec Forest to produce high-quality organic inputs. 

Incorporation of sustainable infrastructure, including water harvesting systems to optimize the use of natural resources.
