Located in the Second Section of Chapultepec Forest, the museum was designed by architect Leónides Guadarrama and inaugurated on October 24, 1964.
Its exhibition halls cover the following themes: Origin of the Universe, Origin of the Earth, Origin of Life, Evolution of Life, Biological Diversity, and Megadiverse Mexico. There are also temporary exhibitions in the lobby and in the Three Domes Complex.
During your visit, you’ll learn more about botany, astronomy, history, and zoology. The museum houses a library, and its outdoor areas host environmental education and scientific outreach activities such as tree and bird monitoring.
