The Monumental Tribune pays tribute to the Mexican Army heroes who bravely fought on the Pacific front during World War II as part of Squadron 201.
This space, shaped like a hemicycle with steps reminiscent of a Roman tribune, dates back to the early 20th century and is the work of architect Nicolás Mariscal.
On the structure’s main wall, bronze plaques immortalize the names of the members of this squadron, while the remains of Lieutenant José Espinosa Fuentes and Second Lieutenant Mario López Portillo rest within the two pillars.
