Built in 1921 by order of Miguel Alessio Robles, it is an exact replica of the fountain of the same name located in María Luisa Park in Seville, Spain.
The tiles were crafted by Spanish artist Antonio Lecaroz Jiménez, and the artistic direction was led by engineer Félix Jorge Martínez.
Originally, it was located in the area now occupied by the Altar to the Homeland.
