{"id":25809,"date":"2025-06-24T23:49:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T05:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.chapultepec.org.mx\/?post_type=espacio&#038;p=25809"},"modified":"2025-07-02T18:08:25","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T00:08:25","slug":"altar-a-la-patria","status":"publish","type":"espacio","link":"https:\/\/www.chapultepec.org.mx\/en\/espacio\/altar-a-la-patria\/","title":{"rendered":"Altar a la Patria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the entrance of Calzada Juventud Heroica stands the Altar to the Homeland, a work by architect Enrique Arag\u00f3n Echegaray and sculptor Ernesto Tamariz that honors the six cadets of the Military College, known as the Ni\u00f1os H\u00e9roes, remembered for sacrificing their lives during the Battle of Chapultepec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This monument, inaugurated in 1952, consists of six marble columns crowned with bronze eagles and torches. At the center stands \u201cLa Patria,\u201d represented by a female figure holding one of the fallen cadets in her arms, while another stands heroically at her side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The figures are wrapped in the Mexican flag, and at their feet the inscription reads: \u201cTo the defenders of the Homeland 1846\u20131847.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Obra del arquitecto Enrique Arag\u00f3n Echegaray y del escultor Ernesto Tamariz, fue inaugurado el 27 de septiembre de 1952 durante el mandato del presidente Miguel Alem\u00e1n Vald\u00e9s.
