The Rufino Tamayo International Museum of Contemporary Art, better known as the Tamayo Museum, offers encounters with contemporary art through its extensive program of temporary exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inaugurated in 1981 and designed by renowned architects Teodoro Gonz\u00e1lez de Le\u00f3n and Abraham Zabludovsky, this cultural space was born from the generosity of Oaxacan artist Rufino Tamayo and his wife Olga, who donated their collection of contemporary art for the public to enjoy. Today, under the care of the National Institute of Fine Arts, the museum not only exhibits cutting-edge works but also houses an extensive documentary archive, an educational room for courses and workshops, a restaurant, and a gift shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
